Ferrara La Città del Cinema ® aims to be a hub dedicated to all who believe in and love cinema—from enthusiasts to industry professionals, from film students to theater audiences, and even those who have never before approached the world of the silver screen but may discover new inspiration for knowledge and creativity through this opportunity.
The project's goals are to elevate cultural engagement, foster creativity, attract young talent, and encourage critical reflection on the themes highlighted by cinematic art. Operating year-round with dozens of events across 365 days, including pre-training programs, international campuses, professional training, film production, festivals, exhibitions, retrospectives on Italian cinema, awards, foundations, and archives for research.

Blow-up Academy
Blow-up Academy, an accredited institution of the Emilia-Romagna Region, was founded in 2019 by Stefano Muroni—actor, film producer, and commissioner for the Italian Ministry of Culture's Directorate-General for Cinema—and Valeria Luzi, writer and screenwriter, with Alessio di Clemente, actor and internationally renowned acting coach, serving as Artistic Director.
The vision was to create a film academy unlike any other: a center of advanced training with an international outlook, where students not only master cinematic techniques but also cultivate the inner tools needed to become true authors of cinema. Today, Blow-up Academy is home to more than 200 students from all around Italy.

Warsaw Film School
Warsaw Film School was founded in 2004 by acclaimed director Maciej Ślesicki and iconic Polish actor Bogusław Linda. Since then, it has become one of the leading film institutions in Central Europe and one of only three schools in Poland authorized to grant a BA degree in film.

Prague Film School
Prague Film School (PFS) provides intensive training in the core disciplines of filmmaking. The prevailing ethos of the school is a combination of European Art-House and American Independent Cinema. With a focus on practical, hands-on education, the school's programs are designed to prepare students for successful careers in the film industry.
Setting itself apart from many national film academies or major private film schools in Europe and internationally, Prague Film School is characterized by its small student body, lending to a particular intimacy in the educational and filmmaking experience. Its close-knit community fosters synergetic work relations with teachers and students and affords easy access to filmmaking facilities and a red-tape-free working environment.

Academy for Cinema and Television
Academy for Cinema and Television (ACT) is a private school in Lint, focused on acting for film and television. The school was built in 2016 by Abbas Fasaei, an actor and certified coach with more than 12 years of experience. They offer hands-on coaching based on techniques like Meisner, Stanislavski, and the 33 steps of Michael Margotta.
They specialize exclusively in on-camera acting—not theatre—and focus on personal development. ACT guides students in both artistic and professional development, from self-tapes auditioning to agency outreach, teaching the business of acting. The academy welcomes both new and advanced actors with international ambitions and hosts workshops with international coaches, casting directors, and actors.
ACT is not a traditional school, but a launchpad into the industry. Personal growth, craft, and career positioning are their core pillars. They are more than just a school—they are a community that helps their students reach their goals.

Fondazione per il Centro Studi Città di Orvieto
Founded in 2000, the Fondazione per il Centro Studi Città di Orvieto is an institution committed to promoting cultural innovation, lifelong learning, and civic engagement through training and project-based activities. Rooted in the city of Orvieto, the Foundation is now a dynamic hub for cultural development in central Italy, bridging heritage with contemporary needs.
Over the years, CSCO has become a reference platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, participatory design, and skills development. It offers high-quality training programs, seminars, conferences, and cultural events in collaboration with universities, public institutions, and civil society organizations at both national and European level.
Their mission is to foster local and transnational cooperation in the fields of cultural policy, sustainability, and social inclusion. The Foundation actively supports European project design, applied research, and digital innovation, particularly within programs such as Erasmus+, CERV, and Creative Europe.

MEIS
The National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah-MEIS (Ferrara) is an international reference point for the study of more than two thousand years of Jewish history in Italy. The museum is very active and dynamic in museum didactics and in dissemination events such as exhibitions, educational workshops, screenings, performances, presentations, and meetings.
As a cultural institution dedicated to preserving and sharing Jewish heritage in Italy, MEIS serves as a bridge between past and present, offering visitors deep insights into the rich cultural contributions of Italian Jewish communities throughout history.

Istituto di Storia Contemporanea di Ferrara
The Institute of Contemporary History in Ferrara was established in 1973 with the scientific task of promoting critical knowledge and the dissemination of contemporary history. Underlying this is the desire to allow Catholic and secular historical-political groups to study each other, to get to know each other in order to overcome preconceptions, commonplaces and artificial incompatibilities.
The Institute manages an extensive library specialising in contemporary history, archives of national and other relevance, and the History Didactics Laboratory with the fundamental task of training teachers and students and devising teaching paths for schools of all levels. Research activities are diverse, organizing annual conferences and seminars at national and international level.

Fondazione Giorgio Bassani
The Giorgio Bassani Foundation was established by a prefectural decree on 8 April 2002 to honour and keep alive the memory of the writer Giorgio Bassani, who died in Rome on 13 April 2000. It aims to spread knowledge of his works in Italy and around the world, in accordance with Giorgio Bassani's will.
The Foundation promotes studies and organises cultural initiatives of various kinds and of wide scope, with reference to the multifaceted activities and interests of the writer. A scientific committee of historians and literary critics proposes initiatives every year to keep alive the memory of Giorgio Bassani. It also collects, protects, preserves and valorises all of his production, promotes studies and cultural initiatives also linked to the territory.
